This composer always writes lovely pieces, many of which I have seen in the past, and this latest one is no exception. His music is full of beautiful melodies and harmonies and although his musical style is not very surprising in its harmonic detail, it is always beautifully written and super to get your fingers around.
This is a waltz dedicated to a Japanese guitarist Michiyasu Takahashi , and is set in A minor at a speed marking of Moderato, beginning with a gently rising and then falling melody set in three voices for the majority of the time. It all falls wonderfully on the fingers, and so nothing is too difficult, as long as you have a moderately good technique. Although the bass/two chords style of this waltz is often what you see, he manages to put in a lot of other small details along the way that always keep the playing interesting and varied. There are a number of themes in the piece, and then a final repeat of the opening melody at the close on a descending arpeggio of E Minor and a final chord of harmonics.
This is friendly, sad, and lovely to play and will be enjoyed by many guitarists who like good melodies and harmonies.
