The first thing that you notice about this album is that they are great players, lots of places where they are racing about all over the place, which in my humble opinion works  sometimes and doesn’t other times. Take the opening track A Dona Cata, for example. It comes across as far too busy especially when the players are rhythmically playing across one another, as they do here. That said most of the other tracks are really entertaining and full of the Latin American sound.

I imagine that, like me, most of these tracks will be new to the greater majority of you, and so be prepared to be listening to a guitar CD with almost nothing that is known to you, not that that is a bad thing, far from it!

The recording is a very close one, so that, at times, it sounds like you are listening to one super – large guitar! However you are not going to be disappointed by the standard of their playing, so you will enjoy this album, if you are happy about the style of the music being performed. As I said at the beginning, some of their playing is very fast and complex and doesn’t always work for me but if that doesn’t faze you, then this album will suit you well.
