Will McNicol with Innotet

CD: Home Produced.

Anyone who saw my previous review of this group’s Volume 2, which I absolutely loved, will enjoy seeing and hearing this previous recording by them, which I happened to receive later! As I mentioned last time, Innotet are a quartet, comprised of some of the finest Scottish musicians in their respective fields: Violin I: Seonaid Aitken Violin II: Innes Watson Viola: Patsy Reid Cello: Alice Allen, and were formed especially for this album and the follow up volume 2 (And I hope future volumes too!)

As before, all the pieces played here are by McNicol, and like the other volume, they are beautiful, very melodic, but quite different from a lot of other pieces, whilst being utterly captivating, and so great to just sit and listen to.

There are literally no boring or bad tracks here. The entire album is wonderful to hear, with the playing of all 5 musicians, superb and very clearly recorded.

This is quite simply, along with volume 2, one of the best pairs of CDs I have heard in a long while, and can only thoroughly recommend them. So when are we going to hear them in concert?
